I was watching Tati the other day and she was going through her “Top Shelf” products. (Aka the ones she uses on a daily basis, her top picks). Now if you’ve seen Tati you know, she’s so gorgeous, and one thing I’ve always admired is how insanely perfect her skin looks. Not only her face, but her neck, arms, and chest (I’m sure the rest too, but let’s not get weird). I always wondered what skin care products she used and if she put makeup on those areas and in this video she revealed that yes, she uses two products on those areas. I of course, immediately ran out and bought them. They are Per-fekt’s Body Perfection Gel and LanoLips Everywhere Multi-Cream.
Here’s a link to Tati’s video where you can see how she applies them. She basically just mixes the two products in her palms and then rubs them into her skin. I still have LanoLips in the mail, but I just got Body Per-fekt today. Luckily when I saw that Lano would take longer to arrive I skedaddled over to Target and looked for a Lano dupe. I found a pure Lanolin product that is marketed as a nipple cream so I figured this would be super legit (as in gentle and high quality). The other is Burt’s Bees Baby multipurpose ointment that is a velvety mixture of castor seed, coconut, almond and other natural oils and shea butter.
Let me tell you I love the Burt’s Bees ointment. It reminds me of the effects you can get with something like Aquaphor Balms or Vasoline, but this stuff is way lighter and it absorbs really fast. I have been using it on my lips before bedtime and throughout the day and I love it.
So let’s get to the main product here. Body per-fekt promises to be an airbrushed, matte, blurring, skin perfecting powerhouse in a tube. While I wouldn’t be into wearing this on an every day, basis, I love having a skin perfector for those special occasions. (Or for when my skin is misbehaving and I just don’t want to try to mess around with using heavy foundation/concealer to cover whatever redness situation is going on).
So for the Body Per-fekt alone, I’d say I’ll pass. It’s just way too matte and I don’t know about you, but I do not want matted-out, dry looking chest/arms skin. Ew. I want healthy, glowing, slightly dewy skin that radiates like the sun. I felt like alone, Body Per-fekt almost had a muddy like texture going on and this made it hard to blend out as well.
I mixed it with the pure lanolin first and this was not the best look. It went from being muddy and dry to muddy and slimy. It was just gross, it didn’t blend well. This combination left streaks and if you touched it after blending the product would come off. Not cute.
I used the Burt’s Bees multipurpose ointment next and Holy Guacamole, yes. This is what Tati was talking about hunnnnney. I am still dying to see how Lanolips will look with it, but I doubt it could be much better than the Burt’s Bees ointment. First of all, it blended together perfectly, not only did the Burt’s Bees make it look dewy and glowing, but it also helped blend Body Per-fekt out so beautifully. I’m in love with this combination! Also, another perk is that the Burt’s Bees ointment lets you use way less of the Body Per-fekt so hello money-saving goodness.
So if you’re looking for next level skin perfection, show your body some love and get out there with these two products from heaven. Thank me later, well actually thank Tati because she is the one who put me onto it.
